High Speed Hangover played their first wedding reception gig over the weekend! The venue was Hanham Community Center which has a surprisingly spacious main hall packed with 150 enthusiastic wedding-goers. It was a huge amount of fun, and we hope to play more weddings in the future. It was such a lovely atmosphere!

High Speed Hangover headlined the final night slot of the 3-day Songsmith Festival 2009. Over 20 acts including pedal steel guitar legend BJ Cole played two separate stages at the famous Bristol venue The Lousiana.
We played the upstairs room – a really great intimate gig venue whose stage has previously been graced by dozens of great bands such as Razorlight, Placebo, Snow Patrol and many others.

High Speed Hangover welcomed our new singer Sharon to the band with a gig in Que C’s bar in Bristol, where we knocked out a record 30 songs – including a bunch of new songs such as ‘Come up and See Me’ by Cockney Rebel – to a lively crowd celebrating a 21st birthday.

High Speed Hangover will be playing a gig at the Mayor’s Arms, Bristol on the 18th October 2008!
As always, HSH will be playing your favourite party hits – including many of your favourites from the 80s, 90s and noughties!
The gig’ll kick off at 9pm sharp, be there or be somewhere .. else. But preferably there!
The Mayor’s Arms is on Clarence Road, near the ‘banana bridge’. Other nearby things are Bristol General Hospital, and the St Mary Redcliffe Church is a few hundred meters to the north.

High Speed Hangover had its inaugural gig at The Mayor’s Arms, Bristol on the 23rd July 2008.
Richard W took the lead on the vocals, as Catalina had not yet joined the band. The band played for a full two hours – 26 songs – so the audience definitely got their money’s worth. Particularly as the gig was free

We’d prepared songs for the encore in advance, as is the custom, but ended up changing things – the audience requested we did ‘Poison’ again, and Richard performed one of his own songs ‘Transfusion’ – a comedy rap song about an injury-prone guy struggling to get the blood transfusion he so desperately needs. We hadn’t actually ever played this song together before so it was a bit of a surprise when Richard started it off!
You can download an mp3 remix of ‘Transfusion’ produced by our drummer Ben Clayton
