Gig at the Mayor’s Arms, Bristol

Posted by: band In: gigs

High Speed Hangover had its inaugural gig at The Mayor’s Arms, Bristol on the 23rd July 2008.
Richard W took the lead on the vocals, as Catalina had not yet joined the band.   The band played for a full two hours – 26 songs – so the audience definitely got their money’s worth.  Particularly as the gig was free :-) .

From left-to-right: Tim Crump, Ben Clayton, Richard Wadsworth, Jon Killeen
We’d prepared songs for the encore in advance, as is the custom, but ended up changing things – the audience requested we did ‘Poison’ again, and Richard performed one of his own songs ‘Transfusion’ – a comedy rap song about an injury-prone guy struggling to get the blood transfusion he so desperately needs.  We hadn’t actually ever played this song together before so it was a bit of a surprise when Richard started it off!
You can download an mp3 remix of ‘Transfusion’ produced by our drummer Ben Clayton
